Once you visit our breathtaking community nestled along the majestic Rogue River, you will know why it is called the "Jewel of the Upper Rogue"!   We enjoy year round sports and activities that include: whitewater rafting, fishing, excellent wildlife watching, and unique shopping, all along the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway Neighboring Eagle Point, offers the Robert Trent Jones II championship 18-hole golf course.  Waterfalls and great hiking trails are a short drive up the highway.  Crater Lake National Park is only a 45 minute drive away.

There are 1,246 people per square mile (population density).  Since 2000, we have had a population growth of 8 percent. The median age is 44.4.  60.25% of people in Shady Cove are married and 15.59% are divorced.  The average household size is 2.3 people. 17.13% of people are married, with children. 6.91% have children, but are single.  95.30% of people are white, 0.32% are black, 0.44% are Asian, 2.09% are native American, and 1.85% claim 'Other'. 3.05% of the people in Shady Cove, claim Hispanic ethnicity (meaning 96.95% are non-Hispanic).
