St. Martins Episcopal Church Welcomes You St. Martins Episcopal church services started in 1957 at the Shady Cove Elementary School. Following the completion of the downstairs portion of the church, services were held on the church property. We are a congregation of mixed ages and our membership includes people not only from Shady Cove, but Trail, Eagle Point, and Central Point. We offer weekly Sunday school for the youth and our church music is provided by a choir, organist and guitarist. During the year the congregation provides for the caring of children, by sponsoring a weekly Sunday school, a summer Bible camp, giving donations to the local Boy's and Girl's Club, and spring clean-up of local youth camps. Our Christian education includes yearly Lenten studies, Seder dinner, Advent studies, and confirmation classes, when candidates request them. The church's annual outreach and support programs include High Tea with Lessons and Carols, United Thank Offering, Nets for Life, handmade hats for cancer patients, a summer vacation Bible school, monetary donations for relief efforts, and a monthly Food Pantry. Our members have also served on building and medical missions in New Orleans, Peru and Honduras. Weekly the church's meeting room is used by AA; men and women meet together on Tuesday evenings. Food and Friends uses the meeting room on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Potlucks are held during the winter months, and a special breakfast is prepared for Mother's Day and Father's Day.
