Chief
of Police
We
are pleased to have the stewardship of Chief Rick Mendenhall
to help guide the Shady Cove Police and Public Safety Services
Department. Rick has lived in
Oregon
for 30 years. His specialized training and certification add
immensely to the breadth of service he provides to Shady Cove (law
enforcement, SWAT, emergency medical response, firefighting, and
water search and rescue).
Chief
Mendenhall served as a volunteer for the Shady Cove Police and
Public Safety Services Department for almost a decade for before
agreeing to serve as our Chief of Police. He also serves as
a Captain/Paramedic for Jackson County Fire District No. 4,
located in Shady Cove. His 20 years of experience as a
firefighter and dealing with public safety issues in our community
and its environs is a real plus.
We
are pleased with his experience with the Department, the
community, and his solid leadership skills. His accessibility,
knowledge and philosophy of open, honest communication provide a
strong foundation for a safe, healthy, and comfortable community.
