Shady Cove Library Branch-Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Shady Cove Library, is an organization that was formed about 25 years ago, to promote and further the mission of the library, and to assist the librarian when possible.  Friends of the Library are also advocates on behalf of the libraries and raise funds (often through used book sales; to help pay for special programs and services).  Friends have sponsored author visits, book discussion, open houses, and summer reading programs.

Friends meet at 6:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month, except, July, August, and December, in the meeting room of the library.  Everyone is welcome to join us!

 Annual Events

Shady Cove Branch Library’s Book Nook
Books are for sale the second Tuesday of each month from 1-3 p.m. in the “Book Nook” (adjacent to the community meeting room) in the Shady Cove Branch Library. Call ahead to make sure that it is open on the Tuesday that you would like to come in!  You’ll find great prices on everything–including paperback “scruffies” priced at six for $1.00. Most paperbacks are $.25 each and most hardback copies are $1.00 each. All children's books are $.25 each.  You can request that the "Book Nook" be opened for you, by asking our friendly librarians.

Continuous Book Sales
The Friends of the Library have put together a great selection of books to choose from all year long, on the Friends of the Library self.  On your next visit to the Shady Cove Library make sure that browse the shelf.  

Annual Big Book Sale
On the first weekend of November don't miss your opportunity to acquire a great selection of books at a really good price!  This is one book sale that you won't want to miss.  Make sure that you get there early because these books go fast...
